The Assembly adopted by consensus the draft resolution “2025 United Nations Conference to Support the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development”, deciding to convene the next UN Ocean Conference in France, in June 2025.

​The CRGA Subcommittee for the Strategic Plan (Subcommittee) is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen accountability and evidence-based decision-making in the Pacific Community (SPC), and to enable members to be more effectively engaged in steering the direction and priorities of their organisation. The CRGA Subcommittee assists the CRGA in its governance role of monitoring the implementation of the Pacific Community Strategic Plan and providing guidance to the Secretariat on its strategic direction.

​Loss and damage in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) has been documented through research initiatives across a wide range of disciplines, including sustainability science, environmental studies, natural resource management, marine ecosystems, public health, anthropology, sociology, gender studies, cultural heritage, and others.

​The Pacific Islands Conference on Ocean Science and Ocean Management (PICOSOM) is a regional event dedicated to fostering meaningful dialogue on ocean-related issues. This conference brings together a diverse group of participants, including Pacific Ocean managers, scientists, traditional knowledge holders, and Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOPs), to collaborate and address the pressing ocean challenges facing the region.
